The Fundamental Issue of our Age: Individualism vs Collectivism

Atlas Flexes His Muscles - MoneyShow.com

Great to see that others are still reading, still keeping the mind alert. We need more young voters to understand the principles Ayn tried to convey. Collectivism is not their friend, it is their doom.

If you take the time to re-read Atlas Shrugged, you’ll find it eerily predicted events that are actually happening in our country today. Did you ever think government would own a majority of General Motors, and have the power to name its chairman or chief executive officer? Did you ever believe we’d have a “pay czar”—setting compensation levels for corporate executives?

Globalism: the final assault on the individual

Posted using ShareThis

Very scary stuff, but it is what it is. Global Warming is just the latest opportunity for those that want more power, to grab more power. They more they do, the less you, as an individual, have. An excerpt from the article linked above:

Speaking of the 2009 Copenhagen Treaty, Lord Christopher Monckton, former science adviser to British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, said, “I read that treaty. And what it says is this, that a world government is going to be created. The word “government” actually appears as the first of three purposes of the new entity. The second purpose is the transfer of wealth from the countries of the West to third world countries, in satisfaction of what is called, coyly, “climate debt” – because we’ve been burning CO2 and they haven’t. We’ve been screwing up the climate and they haven’t. And the third purpose of this new entity, this government, is enforcement.”

At FreeColorado.com, they pose that the next president will be a collectivist, no matter which one wins! Excerpt and link below.

The Collectivist President

"Tragically, for the better part of a century, America has been moving away from the individualist ideals of the Founders and toward collectivism. Just consider the crushing tax burden we all suffer under to fuel an endless list of welfare entitlements in the name of the "public good." ... None of this is compatible with the individual's right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Instead of leaders who "put country first" we need leaders who will put freedom first."

And in the spirit of photoshop-politics, check out this graphic from Titanic Deck Chairs:

Any government big enough to give you everything you need, is big enough to take it all away, right Earl? Quote below from Earl Pearson's article speaking out against the danger of collectivism...

Union Leader - Earl Pearson: Collectivism is a nice idea that simply doesn't work - Monday, Jan. 28, 2008: "ECENTLY THERE was a political ad on TV in which a number of children appear consecutively pleading for politicians to tell the truth and not to make promises they cannot keep. The final battle cry was, 'Health care and financial security for all.'
'Financial security for all' sounds great -- if you know nothing about the consequences. What would happen to the incentive to work, to productivity, creativity, competition and all the other factors necessary to support a thriving economy and a decent standard of living if we all had financial security provided by the government?"

I posted a comment to this article, though I didn't see it show up. Problems with their php I think. Therefore I thought I would go ahead and post a teaser here. The schools teach more and more collectivism every day, and are much more overt about it now. The day will come where they are not only overt, but that push to pass laws to block individualism, such as anti-homeschooling legislation, and more.

The Baltimore Reporter: "Each year as the school year gets underway, I write a column about the mandatory communalism that takes place in numerous schools across the country where unsuspecting students and parents are forced to surrender their supplies to educational authorities, deemed by the state to be of superior enlightenment than those actually acquiring the school supplies, for redistribution as these demagogic pedagogues see fit.
